Strachan
Executive Vice President, Chief Claims Officer
Richard has been Chief Claims Officer for AXIS Group since 2002. He also serves as Chief Operating Officer for AXIS Insurance responsible for insurance Claims, Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Marketing and IT functions. Based in Bermuda, he is a member of the AXIS Executive Committee and the AXIS Insurance Board. He is Chairman of the Group Reserving Committee and also chair of the Actuarial Coordination Group. Richard has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Prior to joining AXIS, he managed claims for Syndicates 488 and 2488 at Lloyd's from 1985 to 1997, initially with Charman Underwriting Agencies and then subsequently at Tarquin PLC. Following the acquisition of Tarquin PLC by ACE Ltd, he served as Claims Team Leader for ACE Global Markets.
John Intondi, CPCU
Executive Vice President, AXIS Insurance Claims Director
John is responsible for the management of all North America claims activities. Prior to joining AXIS, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Claim Officer at Combined Specialty Group's P&C division, RSUI, ACE USA and Westchester Specialty Group. Earlier in his career, John held a variety of claim positions while employed by Crum and Forster, Western World Insurance Company and Consolidated Mutual Insurance Company. John is the AXIS representative to the International Association of Claim Professionals. He is also an active member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) and serves on the faculty for their Litigation Management College and Graduate School.
David Hayward, ACII
Executive Vice President, AXIS Insurance Claims Manager
David has been with AXIS since its inception in 2002 and is responsible for all Insurance claims activity emanating outside North America. He has 28 years of experience and previously held senior positions as Group Claims Director at Hiscox, Marine Claims Manager at Ace Global Markets and Deputy Manager of the Energy, Property and Liability group at Lloyd's Claims Office. He is an accredited CEDR mediator and an active member of the London market energy and property claims groups. In addition to handling major claims worldwide, he also works closely with our underwriting teams ensuring our claims teams are fully aligned to the business and client needs.
Frederick M. Zauderer, Esq.
Senior Vice President, Claims Manager – Professional Lines
Fred brings over 30 years of experience to bear in managing a team of 17 claims attorneys who handle D&O Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Financial Institutions, Professional Firms, Fidelity/Crime and other professional lines claims. Prior to joining AXIS, he held various claims management positions at Travelers, Gulf, Kemper, Reliance and Chubb. Fred is an attorney licensed in New York. He is also Vice-Chair of the Professionals, Officers, and Directors Liability Committee of the Tort, Insurance and Trial Practice Section of the American Bar Association.
John Isachsen
Senior Vice President, AXIS Insurance Claims
John is our practice coordinator for Property and Onshore Energy. He has 25 years of experience gained in the London market with Benfield and then Faraday underwriting before joining AXIS in 2007. John handles all types of commercial property claims and related business interruption exposures ranging from manufacturing and municipality business to retail, telecommunications and hospitality. His onshore energy experience ranges from petroleum refining and marketing to electricity generation and renewable energy losses.
James Parker
Senior Vice President, Zurich Claims Manager
James Parker has over 10 years industry experience and previously worked both in legal practice and with a leading Loss Adjusting firm, before joining Winterthur International (later XL Global Risks) in 2000, where he served as Casualty Claims Controller in London. He was then transferred to the Global Claims Head Office in Switzerland, where he took up the role of Senior Claims Consultant for the UK/RoW and later Continental European regions. He also headed up a series of global initiatives within the Global Claims team, before joining AXIS in May 2005 to head up the new European Re Claims operation in Zurich.
